Zuri Craig Dies: ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finalist Was 44

Zuri Craig, who once was a finalist on the reality show America’s Got Talent as part of the Craig Lewis band, has died.

He was 44 and no cause was given by his family, who confirmed he died on Friday and issued a tribute post on his website.

Craig was a hit on AGT back in 2015, when he and his singing partner, Jeffrey Lewis, delivered powerful versions of songs by James Brown and Mary J. Blige. They finished fifth overall in that year’s competition.

Competing with Jeffrey Lewis as one half of the Craig Lewis Band, Craig made it to the finals of America's Got Talent season 10 in 2015.

He also created a web series entitled Black Hollywood: Atlanta, for which he held a casting call last July.
